Flower Bombs

Traditionally only for the bride to put in her hair, the flower accessory has come back in a big way. Whether it’s a headband, a fabric brooch or a pair of Chanel rose-inspired earrings, the Flower Power era has returned and may be here to stay for quite some time. Fendi has even smothered this season’s IT bag, the box clutch, with a plethora of roses. Not bold enough to wear a big one in your hair? Pin a little brooch onto your bag or dress for a pop of color, or clip one onto your sandals for some flirty fun. A DIY pro? Buy or make some fabric flowers and glue clips onto the back for shoes & brooches, or sew them to your clothes. Genius!

The Bow Phenomenon

Pinned onto a T-shirt, displayed on a headband or clipped back in your hair, the bow has always been eponymous with ladylike elegance and a girlish charm. The trick is to keep it minimal and wear a chic color that complements or pops with what you are wearing, making sure you stick to only one bow per outfit. No one wants to look like a 12 year old clown with multiple bows dangling from her body. Keep it clean, keep it mean.

Bling it

Of course, nothing beats the real thing but when faced with mountains of diamante earrings, rings and necklaces to choose from, you can afford to take home more than just a few – and some for your friends too. Ever since the term “bling” made its way out of the hiphop world and into mainstream fashion, it has been synonymous with flashy and overstated glamour, but true fashionistas know how to wear it on the down low. There will always be the few fashion idiots out there who still flaunt it like a gaudy piece of fur, but we at 10 know that less is more when it comes to a bit of sparkle. Think iconic stud earrings and a statement necklace. Gorgeous.
